CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre(CSIR-SERC), Chennai, is a premier National Laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research.  The major areas of R & D thrust of the Centre include Structural Concrete Engineering & Technology, Sustainable Materials and Composites, & Retrofitting/rehabilitation of Structures, Computational Structural Mechanics for Analysis and Design & Software Development, Transmission Line Towers, Metal Structure Behaviour & Fatigue and Fracture, Structural Health Monitoring and Evaluation & Forensic Analysis and Wind Engineering and Earthquake Engineering. The Centre has built up excellent facilities for testing of structures and structural models, and also for mathematical modeling and simulation.
